He didn't want to try them.

I teach phonics based literacy intervention and one of my younger readers was pretty sure he didn't need these books, but I convinced him to try the first one. The very next day he proudly declared he had finished it and could he please have two more because they were great! He's halfway through the series and very excited to keep reading them. I wish there was another series because he is not the only one of my students really enjoying the storyline and characters.
